Apple Peppermint Bark
I can hear you already going what on earth is that?????
Well.....If words like “bark” make you think, “Ew, weird, clicking away now,” don’t–click away
Avoiding things that sound weird will keep you from enjoying things that taste amazing.
So onto the recipe.....
First things first
Ingredients:
1. 1 cup chocolate baking bars bittersweet
2. 1 cup mini chocolate chips
3. 2 cups white chocolate bark chopped
4. 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
5. 12 whole peppermint candies
6. 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
Second things steps...
1. Line the bottom and sides of a 9x13" pan with tinfoil, smoothing out any wrinkles
2. Melt the coarsely chopped bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate until smooth
3. Mix in 1 tsp of vegetable oil to make the chocolate shiny
4. Pour the dark chocolate into the pan, smoothing it out with a spatula to ensure an even layer
5. Freeze for 30 minutes, or until hard
6. Melt the white chocolate in the double boiler
7. While the white chocolate is melting, put the candy in a blender pulse pieces until small enough. 8. Separate out the larger pieces from any powder that was generated
9. Once the white chocolate is melted, add 1 tsp of vegetable oil and candy powder from the blender.
10. Pour the white chocolate over the dark, smooth it out, and sprinkle the candy cane pieces
11. Freeze for another 30 minutes
12. Use a knife to break up the bark, or just slam some pieces against the pan to make smaller pieces (I actually broke a knife in this process, so I suggest the slamming method)
Now simple disclosure I will on occasion borrow pictures from other sites if I did not take one and I apologize...The above picture came from www.cozykitchen.com
Enjoy !!
