Apple Cinnamon Bars

Apple Cinnamon Bars

I can hear you already going what on earth is that???




Well.....If words like “bars” make you think, “Ew, weird, clicking away now,” don’t–click away



Avoiding things that sound weird will keep you from enjoying things that taste amazing.




So onto the recipe.....




First things first

 Ingredients:
1. 1 1/3 cups flour
2. 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3. 1 1/2 cups oats
4. 3/4 cup butter
5. 3/4 cup brown sugar
6. 1/2 cup sugar
7. 2 whole eggs
8. 1 teaspoon vanilla
9. 1 package cinnamon baking chips (like chocolate chips but cinnamon)
10. 1 whole apple peeled and chopped
FROSTING
11. 3 cups powdered sugar
12. 1/4 cup butter
13. 3 ounces cream cheese
14. 1 teaspoon vanilla
15. 1 tablespoon cinnamon






Second things steps...
1. Heat oven to 350°F.
2. Combine flour, salt and baking soda in medium bowl; stir in oats.
3. Combine butter, brown sugar and sugar in large bowl.
4. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
5. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until well mixed.
6. Reduce speed to low; add flour mixture.
7. Beat until well mixed.
8. Stir in cinnamon chips and apple.
9. Spread batter into greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
10.  Bake for 33 to 38 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
11. Cool completely.
12. Combine all frosting ingredients in small bowl.
13.  Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
14. Spread over cooled bars.
15. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.

So onto the recipe....




First things first

 Ingredients:
1. 5 cups flour

2. 1 1/4 teaspoons sugar
3. 1 1/3 teaspoon salt
4. 1 1/4 cup butter
5. 3 whole eggs
6. 1/4 cup water
FILLING
7. 10 1/2  cups apples peeled and chopped
8. 1 cups sugar
9. 1 cup brown sugar
10. 1/2 cup flour
11. 2 teaspoons cinnamon
12. 1/2 teaspoon salt
13. 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
14. 1/3 cup cool whip (regular flavor although french vanilla works too)
15. 

1/3 cup butter
16. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract





Second things steps...
1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt. 

2. Add in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 
3. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs, water
4.  Slowly add to flour mixture, tossing with a fork until dough forms a ball.
5. Divide dough in half so that one portion is slightly larger than the other
6. Wrap each in plastic wrap. 
7. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until easy to handle.
8. Roll out larger dough between two sheets of waxed paper into a 17-in. x 12-in. rectangle. 
9. Transfer to an ungreased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. 
10. Press pastry onto the bottom and up the sides of pan
11. Trim pastry even with top edges of pan.
12. In a large bowl, combine the apples, sugars, flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. 
13. Stir in cool whip
14. In a Dutch oven, melt butter. 

15. Add apple mixture; cook over medium heat until apples are slightly tender. 
16. Stir in vanilla. 
17. Spoon into crust.
18. Roll out remaining pastry; place over filling. 

19. Trim and seal edges. 
20. Cut slits in top. 
21. Bake at 375° for 35-40 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. 
 22. Cool on a wire rack.

So onto the recipe.....




First things first
 Ingredients:
1. 2 cups white chocolate chips

2. 1/4 cup peppermint candies crushed







Second things steps...

1. Line cookie sheet with wax paper.
2. Place white chips in medium microwave-safe bowl. 

3. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1 minute; stir. 
4. Continue microwaving in 15 second increments, stirring until chips are melted.
5. Set aside about 1 tablespoon crushed peppermint candies; 
6.Stir remaining crushed candy pieces into melted chips. 
7. Pour mixture onto prepared cookie sheet; spread to about 1/2-inch thickness.
8. Gently tap cookie sheet on countertop to even out thickness of mixture. 
9. Sprinkle remaining peppermint pieces over surface. 
10. Repeat tapping cookie sheet on counter until candy is desired thickness.
11. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm. 
12. Break into pieces. 
13. Store in cool, dry place.

      * Amount of peppermint candy can be increased or decreased according to your own preference.

So onto the recipe.....



First things first


 Ingredients:
1. 14 ounce package dark chocolate candy coating chopped

2. 3/4 cup pretzel sticks broken into pieces
3. 3/4 cup toffee bits and pieces
4. 8 ounces white chocolate candy squares 







Second things steps...
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

2. In a double boiler or in a microwave on low power, melt the dark chocolate
3. Stir until the chocolate is smooth. 
4. Remove from the heat, and stir in ½ cup of the pretzel pieces and ½ cup of the toffee pieces. 
5. Spread the mixture on the prepared baking sheet. 
6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
7. Melt the white chocolate in the same manner as you did the dark chocolate

8. Remove the baking sheet from fridge and spread the white chocolate on top of dark chocolate 9. Sprinkle with the remaining pretzel pieces and toffee
10. Use your palm to lightly press pieces into the white chocolate. 
11. Return the pan to the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
12. Use a sharp knife to cut the bark into pieces. 
13. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.






 You can also use pretzel rounds and the bark will look this way.... 
I dont care for it but its another option.

So onto the recipe.....



First things first


 Ingredients:
1. 1/4 cup white chocolate chips

2. 2 tablespoons peanut butter
3. 2 tablespoons milk chocolate chips






Second things steps...
1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt vanilla chips and peanut butter; stir until smooth.

2.  Pour into a 5-3/4-in. x 3-in. x 2-in. loaf pan coated with cooking spray.
3. In another microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips; stir until smooth. 

4. Drizzle over first layer. 
5. Swirl with fork to make pretty designs.
6. Freeze for 5-10 minutes
7. Break into pieces

So onto the recipe....



First things first

 Ingredients:

1. 10 ounces white candy coating
2. 2-4 tablespoons peppermint candy canes crushed
3. 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
4. 2 drops red food coloring (you can use pink if you can find it)








Second things steps...
1. In a microwave, melt candy coating for 1 minute; stir. 

2. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
3. Stir in the candies, peppermint extract and food coloring. 

4. Spread onto waxed paper to cool completely. 
5. Let cool
6. Break into small pieces; store in an airtight container.
