I can hear you already going what on earth is that?????
Well.....If words like “khubuz” make you think, “Ew, weird, clicking away now,” don’t–click away
Avoiding things that sound weird will keep you from enjoying things that taste amazing.
Khubuz is a type of flat bread and is considered one of the most common staple food in the Arab world.
So onto the recipe.....
First things first
Ingredients:
1. 2 pounds flour
2. 1 tablespoon salt3. 2 package yeast
4. 1 cup warm water
Second things steps...
1. Mix all ingredients together, adding water until dough is soft, but not too sticky.
2. Cover well and put in warm place.
3. Let rise 1 to 2 hours.
4. When ready to begin, heat oven to 475-500°.
5. Cut dough into medium-sized balls.
6. Keep covered.
7. When this is finished, the first balls have risen enough.
8. Flour a board and get a rolling pin.
9. Press the ball of dough and roll out a little less than ¼ inch thick.
10. Loaf will be round and flat.
11. Put loaf on a flat cookie sheet or some equivalent.
12. Bake less than 5 minutes.
13. Loaf will be separated in the center, filled with air and will look blown up.
14. Quickly place under flame to brown (½ minute).
15. Remove loaf and place on towel covered rack or on top of stove and let cool.
16. Repeat until the loaves are done.
