Apples In A Blanket

Apples In A Blanket

I can hear you already going what on earth is that?????

Well.....If words like “apples in a blanket” make you think, “Ew, weird, clicking away now,” don’t–click away

Avoiding things that sound weird will keep you from enjoying things that taste amazing.

This is a fun spin on the traditional favorite pigs in a blanket only meatless and fun.

So onto the recipe.....

First things first
 Ingredients:
1. 2 cups sugar

2. 2 cups cold water
3. 1 tablespoon cinnabon icing
4. 1 teaspoon nutella
5. 20 whole cinnamon disk candies
6. 1 tablespoon butter
7. 2 whole refrigerated pie crusts
8. 6 whole apples cored and peeled
9. 1 jar red hot candies

Second things steps...
1.  Preheat oven to 450°F.

2.  In a medium-sized saucepan, mix sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg and Red Hots.
3.  Bring to a boil over medium-high heat to create a hot syrup.
4.  Immediately take off the heat and add butter.
5.  Mix well until all candies are dissolved.
6.  Cut each piecrust into three wedges and wrap them around the apples,
7.  Make sure you leave hollowed part of the apple exposed.
8.  Place apples in a greased 9”x13” baking dish.
9.  Sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on top and place a dab of butter into the hole of each apple. 10. Pour the hot syrup over the apples.
11. Bake for about 50 minutes, basting with the hot syrup every 15 minutes or so.
12.  If liquid begins to get too thick, add a little water to thin.
13. Serve warm apples topped with vanilla ice cream.
14. Sprinkle a few Red Hot candies on the plate for garnish.

Now simple disclosure I will on occasion borrow pictures from other sites if I did not take one and I
apologize...The above picture came from www.cindab.com

Enjoy !!

Love,
