Macaroni & Cheese Pasta Balls

Macaroni & Cheese Pasta Balls

I can hear you already going what on earth is that?????

Well.....If words like “pasta balls” make you think, “Ew, weird, clicking away now,” don’t–click away

Avoiding things that sound weird will keep you from enjoying things that taste amazing.

So onto the recipe.....

First things first
 Ingredients:
1. 1 pound elbow pasta cooked

2. tablespoons butter
3. 2 tablespoons flour
4. 2 cups milk
5. 4 cups shredded cheese
6. 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
7. 1 tablespoon garlic powder
8. 1 tablespoon salt
9. 1 tablespoon black pepper
10. 3 whole eggs
11. 2 cups bread crumbs

Second things steps...
1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter,

2. Whisk in 2 tablespoons flour to create a light paste
3. Whisk milk into flour mixture and cook, stirring, until sauce thickens,

4. Reduce heat to low, add the cheeses and continue to stir until melted and smooth,
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. In a large mixing bowl, fold the cheese sauce into the macaroni and stir well
7. Pour everything into a shallow baking dish and refrigerate until cold
8. Shape cold macaroni and cheese into balls, then place on lined baking sheet.
9. Freeze overnight.
10. Create a dredging station with three small bowls.
11. Combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder and salt and pepper, to taste, in the first bowl. 12. Crack eggs and whisk in the second bowl
13. Place bread crumbs in the third bowl.
14. One by one, roll balls in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs and place on a baking sheet.
15. Repeat until all balls are covered.
16. Heat 2” of oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350ºF

17. Fry the balls until the crust is golden brown and the center is hot

Serve immediately with your favorite sauce or flavored condiments for dipping.

Now simple disclosure I will on occasion borrow pictures from other sites if I did not take one and I apologize...The above picture came from www.chameleongirls.blogspot.com
