Apples With Cinnamon & Ginger

Apples With Cinnamon & Ginger

I can hear you already going what on earth is that?????

Well.....If words like “apples and ginger” make you think, “Ew, weird, clicking away now,” don’t–click away

Avoiding things that sound weird will keep you from enjoying things that taste amazing.

So onto the recipe.....

First things first
 Ingredients:
1. 1/4 cup almonds

2. 1 teaspoon ginger
3. 1 tablespoon cinnabon icing
4. 1 teaspoon nutmeg
5. 1/2 cup brown sugar
6. 2 whole apples cored and cut in half
7. 1 whole egg white
8. 1 tablespoon butter
9. 2 cups prune juice

Second things steps...
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a dry skillet over medium-high heat, toast the almonds until light golden brown
3. Let cool and grind into a fine powder.
4. Combine the almonds, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar in a shallow dish.
5.  Brush the apples with the egg white and press into the spice mixture.
6. Heat the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
7. Brown the cut side of the apples in the pan for 1 to 2 minutes.
8. Turn the apples over and add 1/2 cup of water and the prune juice.
9. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 hour, or until the apples are tender and the sauce is reduced to a thick syrup.
10. Place an apple half on each of 4 dessert plates and spoon the sauce over each.

Now simple disclosure I will on occasion borrow pictures from other sites if I did not take one and I apologize...The above picture came from www.hanielas.com

Enjoy !!

Love,
