I can hear you already going what on earth is that?????
Well.....If words like “perpeq” make you think, “Ew, weird, clicking away now,” don’t click away
Avoiding things that sound weird will keep you from enjoying things that taste amazing.
Perpeq. It is considered a dessert, but for us Americans, with our collective sweet tooth, it would be more likely to find a place at Sunday brunch.
So basically this is a dessert dish
So onto the recipe.....
First things first
Ingredients:
1. 15 tablespoons flour
1 cup water
1 cup butter softened
10 whole eggs
7 tablespoon butter
1/2 pint milk
1 pound goat cheese crumbled like feta
Second things steps...1. Mix 15 tbsp. flour with water and make firm dough.
2.Work it with your hands until the dough feels silky.
3. Roll out like a sausage and cut in about 25 small sections.
4. Roll out each section to the size of a saucer,
5. Pile one sheet on top of the other, putting melted butter on each, so they dont stick.
(Don't butter the bottom and top sheets)
6. Now roll the whole pile, giving it the shape of the dish you are going to bake it in.
7. Butter the dish and put in the dough.
8. In a mixing bowl, beat ten eggs (whites and yolks)
9 Add in 7 tbsp. of butter, ½ pint of milk, 1.2 lb. of cheese
10. mix well and add salt, if desired.
11. Pour the mixture over the dough and bake very slowly.
12. Bake very slowly at 300 degrees.
Now simple disclosure I will on occasion borrow pictures from other sites if I did not take one and I apologize...The above picture came from www.myfudo.com
Enjoy !!
